Atlantic News

How to look good in the news business

When new owners took over Atlantic News in 1998, they wanted a rejuvenated look that would draw new customers without alienating existing ones. Pavonis set about re-branding Halifax’s oldest newsstand as a lighter, more fun company, using cartoon character mascots, snappy postcards, and bold print ads. They also set a distinct voice for the company by redesigning the seasonal newsletter, and rewriting it in a more casual style, and then employing this same light tone through all other materials. Pavonis also played a part in Atlantic News’ renovation campaign by designing and implementing customer survey cards, renovation notices, and Grand Reopening ads, flyers, and promotional materials. This year Atlantic News will be celebrating 30 years in business.

The work that Pavonis does for Atlantic News was featured in Atlantic Progress Magazine's Mediafile 2001.
